Four Corners Storytelling Festival
10/13/07
I attending the festival on Saturday and had the oppurtunity to listen to three
of the storytellers at the festival. One of them was Peggy Godfrey. She recited three poems that she wrote about growing up
on a ranch and the struggles that she faced. The next was Angel Vigil. He told a tale about vaqueros and about a myth that
the vaqueros tell. The story was very interesting and the way he told it really was catching. The last storyteller I saw was
Eldrena Douma who is a Hopi woman who tells stories about growing up with her father and grandmother on the reservation. The
story she chose to tell was about when her grandmother dressed up like Mrs. Clause for a church Christmas program.
All the storytellers were wonderful and I think that children of all ages would
enjoy them because I sure did.
